The constant fear when walking alone at night, especially for women, is a continuous battle they are experiencing up to these days—adding to it walking on a dark street without proper lightings. The anxiety that affects an unlit street can cause a person to be frightened when walking alone at night, having their hand on the phone, bringing self-defense weapons, etc.

The perception of poorly lighted streets is that they are dangerous. Fear would be less if brightly lighted the street. The brighter levels of light make people feel safer when walking at night. It would make the street more welcoming to women and everyone in the community. It would enable for freedom, consider how much safer a neighborhood would feel if more women were walking along that street.

Street lighting can improve the quality of neighborhoods quality by making people feel safer.
